The Goldberg Basement Saga

1/18/03 - Many of walls were concrete, so we had to add our own framing (and
electric, and HVAC, and drywall, and the list goes on).

4/01/03 - The view toward what will eventually be the home theater/playroom.

9/28/03 - It took a long time to get all the drywall up (1000 square foot of basement).
And then there was the mudding, and more mudding, and taping, and mudding, and
taping, and sanding, and mudding....

1/1/04 (11 months and 15 days after we began) - Basement with framing and
drywall (floor is still ugly basement concrete)

5/30/04 - The tile in the bar area - so easy! Why don't we just hop on over and do
the tile in the bathroom? How hard can it be?

6/27/04 - Omigosh!!! Who would have known that this could be sooooo slow? All
the cuts... all the designs. We're never doing this again!

7/11/04 - Chris installed the cabinets for the bar area. Note the indirect lighting on
the top shelf.

7/26/05 - A very purple home theater/playroom with cool sconces (the girls love the
dimmer switches on the sconces!).

9/05/04 - Installing the floating floor in Chris' office.

10/09/05 - Getting closer!!! We've even contracted the little help!

10/31/05 - It's coming together, and we have most of the details (outlet plates, trim,
doors, paint, caulking) done. Carpet comes tomorrow!

Carpet makes a huge difference!

Family room area with carpet.

And then here it is with furniture.....

The home theater/playroom - looking very snazzy!!!

And then here it is as a playroom....

10/18/04 - Remember that bathroom that was causing us fits? Turned out pretty nice, if I
do say so myself!

Bar area (someday we'll have a freestanding bar) - anyone for a drink?

Remeber that view of it with just walls? Let's recap:

Looks a little different, huh?

Now can you understand why I might have been a little stressed for two years?

May you enjoy all projects you undertake!
